Lesson 9

The third holy day season comes with the large fall harvest. Unlike the two spring festivals, God will use the third fall festival season to usher in major events that Christians are still waiting for. There are no Bible verses to confirm these upcoming events will happen on the festival’s exact days, but if God continues on his established pattern, there can be little doubt the fall holy days will play a prominent role in delivering his salvation to humanity. The next big thing most Christians are waiting for is the return of Jesus. When he returns his dead believers will be resurrected to eternal life. Deposing all worldly kings, Jesus will bring God’s law and kingdom to rule the earth. He will be heralded back with a great trumpet blast. Named the Day of Trumpets, God gave little reason for why he instructed the Israelites to celebrate the next holy day by blowing trumpets but he later had Ezra reintroduce his forgotten laws to them on the day of Trumpets, the first holy day of the fall festival season. Jesus will be establishing the laws of God on the earth to humanity.

23 But everyone will be raised to life in the right order. Christ was first to be raised. When Christ comes again, those who belong to him will be raised to life, 24 and then the end will come. When we study like a Berean, and derive our information about God from the Bible like a Biblist, we know Jesus will return. He will put all enemies under his feet and his return will usher in a Kingdom that will have no end. It will happen here on this physical earth and it will rule over physical people. In time, all who have ever lived will be offered salvation. Their decisions will be honored forever. Accepting Jesus and salvation will be up to them. Do you believe Jesus will return?
