The gospel of the Kingdom of God also has a warning to those who are called by God and accept Jesus as their saviour in their first life, but then follow carnally after the world. Jesus gave us several parables about those who thought they were safe, only to be destroyed at the end. They will be resurrected into their second lives as physical people, giving an account for themselves at the white throne judgement. Grieved to find they have lost out on eternal life, they will be destroyed in the fire.
Matthew 13:27-30 New King James Version
27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ”
Revelation 20:12-15 New Century Version
12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne. Then books were opened, and the book of life was opened. The dead were judged by what they had done, which was written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. Each person was judged by what he had done. 14 And Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 And anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
Not receiving eternal life when Jesus returned, these defunct Christians will be destroyed in the lake of fire. Resurrected into their second lives to face judgement, they will die their second and final death in those flames. Christians are responsible to live a Godly life now while they can as there are great rewards waiting in the Kingdom of God for those who overcome. What do you do to avoid sin in your life? How are the sins we fall into, different from the sins we seek out?
Hebrews 10:26-27 New Life Version
26 If we keep on sinning because we want to after we have received and know the truth, there is no gift that will take away sins then. 27 Instead, we will stand before God and on that day He will judge us. And the hot fires of hell will burn up those who work against God.
