Lesson 3

God’s plan for mankind’s salvation is the good news of his coming Kingdom. The word gospel is translated from the words meaning good news, or glad tidings. Jesus proclaimed the arrival of God’s Kingdom started with him. The Bible tells us God’s Kingdom will arrive in its fullness when God dwells with us on the earth. Jesus preached the full gospel (good news) of the Kingdom of God.

Mark 1:14-15 Jubilee Bible 2000

14 ¶ Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God

15 and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent ye and believe the gospel.

Revelation 21:2-3 King James Version

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Many people preach the good news that humans can have their sins forgiven and gain eternal life by believing in Jesus. This gospel is glad tidings for sure, but it’s only a portion of the gospel Jesus preached. The gospel of the Kingdom of God proclaimed by Jesus included how we can personally be saved, and that all humanity can enter the Kingdom as well. Jesus left his disciples with the task of proclaiming to the world all that he had taught them. Many Christians preach the gospel about Jesus, few preach the full gospel of Jesus. The good news gospel of the Kingdom of God explains how all mankind may choose the salvation of Jesus as well as how to receive personal salvation. Do you help preach a small portion of what Jesus taught, or the whole message?

Luke 4:43-44 Easy-to-Read Version

43 But he said to them, “I must tell the Good News about God’s kingdom to other towns too. This is why I was sent.”

44 Then Jesus told the Good News in the synagogues in Judea.
