Lesson 24

Expecting Jesus to develop a movement that would propel him into prominence displacing the Romans and setting their society on a Godly path, the disciples wondered why Jesus always taught the crowds with stories and parables. Jesus knew they would have to wait for God’s plans for humanity to be fulfilled before his Kingdom would come to rule the nations. Those who God calls will be drawn to Jesus from every nation of the world. They become Kings and Priests and rule with Jesus when he returns. Who will Jesus and his saints be ruling over? Where will the Kingdom of God be located? Has this message of the Kingdom been preached extensively? Are these scriptures referred to being understood correctly? Is there a better way to understand them?

Matthew 13:10-16 Living Bible
10 His disciples came and asked him, “Why do you always use these hard-to-understand illustrations?” 11 Then he explained to them that only they were permitted to understand about the Kingdom of Heaven, and others were not. 12-13 “For to him who has will more be given,” he told them, “and he will have great plenty; but from him who has not, even the little he has will be taken away. That is why I use these illustrations, so people will hear and see but not understand. 14 “This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah: ‘They hear, but don’t understand; they look, but don’t see! 15 For their hearts are fat and heavy, and their ears are dull, and they have closed their eyes in sleep, 16 so they won’t see and hear and understand and turn to God again, and let me heal them.’

Revelation 5:9-10 Modern English Version
9 And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and have made us kings and priests unto our God; and we shall reign on the earth.”

1 Corinthians 6:1-3 English Standard Version
1 When one of you has a grievance against another, does he dare go to law before the unrighteous instead of the saints? 2 Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? 3 Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life!

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we, the living ones who remain [on the earth], shall simultaneously be caught up along with [the resurrected dead] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord!
