Those who say they follow Jesus, but in their hearts don’t, are the only humans that have not had a second life when the Great White Throne takes place. Having been called by God to follow Jesus during their first life, they spoiled their opportunity to be resurrected and rule with Jesus when he returned to the earth. For some reason they turned their backs on Jesus and lost out on eternal life. Jesus told several parables about false followers and clearly described what fate awaits them. Do you believe it is impossible for a professing Christian to lose out on their salvation? Do they receive eternal life? When are Christians born into an eternal spirit life? What is the difference between professing to be something versus being it, and how is it determined?
Luke 13:24-28 Good News Translation
24 “Do your best to go in through the narrow door; because many people will surely try to go in but will not be able. 25 The master of the house will get up and close the door; then when you stand outside and begin to knock on the door and say, ‘Open the door for us, sir!’ he will answer you, ‘I don’t know where you come from!’ 26 Then you will answer, ‘We ate and drank with you; you taught in our town!’ 27 But he will say again, ‘I don’t know where you come from. Get away from me, all you wicked people!’ 28 How you will cry and gnash your teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God, while you are thrown out!
Matthew 13:37-43 Jubilee Bible 2000
37 He answered and said unto them, He that sows the good seed is the Son of man; 38 the field is the world; the good seed are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked; 39 and the enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. 40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so shall it be in the end of this age. 41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend and those who do iniquity 42 and shall cast them into the furnace of fire; there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
Matthew 24:48-51 New Life Version
48 But if that servant is bad, he will think, ‘The owner will not come soon.’ 49 He will beat the others. He will eat and drink with those who are drunk. 50 The owner will come on a day and at an hour when the servant is not looking for him. 51 The owner will punish the servant and will give him his place with those who pretend to be someone they are not. There will be loud crying and grinding of teeth.
