God’s plan for humanity’s salvation comes from scriptures out of his Bible. One could object if scripture is misunderstood or taken out of context, however most criticisms come when departing from commonly held beliefs. As biblists we need to hold to the Bible’s teaching, using them as the foundation for our faith. Employing the Berean style of learning, we need to prove from the Bible what we accept as truth, not from the inventions of man. The ways of God are not found on the road well traveled.
Matthew 7:13-14 International Children’s Bible
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. The road that leads to hell is a very easy road. And the gate to hell is very wide. Many people enter through that gate. 14 But the gate that opens the way to true life is very small. And the road to true life is very hard. Only a few people find that road.
Luke 13:23-25 Modern English Version
23 Someone said to Him, “Lord, will those who are saved be few?” He said to them, 24 “Strive to enter through the narrow gate. For many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able. 25 Once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ He will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’
Deciding what road you want to follow is your decision. As the Bereans did, study all the scriptures you can to find truth. God did not lie to people. What he promised them, he will fulfill. God has made several different promises to different groups of people. We will all get what was promised for the group we end up in. Some receive blessings, others are punished. Each of us are the masters of our own fate and our choices will be honored. How do you think God will keep all his promises?
Deuteronomy 30:19 King James Version
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
2 Timothy 2:15 King James Version
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Peter 3:9 New English Translation
9 The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some regard slowness, but is being patient toward you, because he does not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
