Lesson 15

At the end of the first millennium of God’s rule, the only people who have been resurrected into a second life are those believers who were raised into spirit life when Jesus returned. Resurrected as immortal beings, the second death will not hurt them as immortals can never die. Will that be the resurrection the thief from the cross be in? With Satan still in chains as that millenium closes, the rest of the dead are resurrected back to life, into that renewed world. This resurrection will be when most of humanity receives their second life. People who died as infants and those who God did not individually call, or draw to Jesus during their first life, will now come back to life in that peaceful world where the knowledge of God is everywhere and the pull to sin is nowhere. God promised this piece filled life to the Isrealites through Old Testament prophets. Has God ever fulfilled this promised life of peace to those Isrealites or humanity? Does God break his promises? When do you believe humanity will live in God’s promised utopia? Could this paradise exist in secret?

Revelation 20:4-5 Easy-to-Read Version
4 Then I saw some thrones and people sitting on them. These were the ones who had been given the power to judge…They came back to life and ruled with Christ for 1000 years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not live again until the 1000 years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.

Ezekiel 37:5-6…11-12…14 Amplified Bible
5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones, ‘Behold, I will make breath enter you so that you may come to life. 6 I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin, and I will put breath in you so that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the Lord.’”

11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is lost. We are completely cut off.’ 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I will open your graves and make you come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you [back home] to the land of Israel. 14 I will put My Spirit in you and you will come to life, and I will place you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and fulfilled it,” says the Lord.’”

Acts 24:14-15 International Children’s Bible
14 But I will tell you this: I worship the God of our ancestors as a follower of the Way of Jesus. The Jews say that the Way of Jesus is not the right way. But I believe everything that is taught in the law of Moses and that is written in the books of the Prophets. 15 I have the same hope in God that they have—the hope that all people, good and bad, will be raised from death.
