Incapable of resisting Satan, humans can not be exposed to his influence and be at one with God at the same time. The Day of Atonement will be fully realised when Satan is finally removed from humanity. Chaining Satan in the bottomless pit will take place on a future Yom Kippur or Day of Atonement, after the return of Jesus on the Feast of Trumpets. The crucifixion of Jesus fulfilled all the sacrifice needed for the salvation of mankind. The only part of Yom Kippur that is yet to be completed is the role of the Azazel goat. Satan will take on the role of this goat when he is banished from human contact with all his instigated sins. Once he has been confined, the bulk of humanity will finally be able to come to the salvation of Jesus, unhindered by Satan’s air born influence. Some people believe Jesus filled the role of both goats. For Jesus to fulfill the symbolic role of the Azazel goat, he would have to be driven away from humanity, yet Bible scriptures tell us Jesus will never leave or forsake us.
Ephesians 2:2 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
2 In which at one time you walked [habitually]. You were following the course and fashion of this world [were under the sway of the tendency of this present age], following the prince of the power of the air. [You were obedient to and under the control of] the [demon] spirit that still constantly works in the sons of disobedience [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God].
Matthew 28:20 King James Version
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Hebrews 13:5-6 Christian Standard Bible
5 Keep your life free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for he himself has said, I will never leave you or abandon you. 6 Therefore, we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
When Jesus returns to rule the earth and depose all other kings he will be dressed for battle. Jesus will not be covered with the sins of humanity, rather his clothes will be dripping with the blood of his enemies. Once Jesus chains Satan into the bottomless pit with the sins he inspired humans to make, Jesus will have deposed all opposition to the Kingdom of God, and the rest of humanity’s salvation can continue. How do you imagine Jesus will be dressed when you first see him? In the Father’s house, do you think you will be living with Jesus, or separated from him? Does God live where sin is? If Jesus represents the Azazel goat, when does he get rid of our sins?
Revelation 19:12-13 New Living Translation
12 His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. 13 He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God.
