Lesson 10

There are several fruits, the spirit of God produces within those it resides. These fruits are gifts from God to strengthen individual believers, develop His church, tell others about Jesus, and proclaim His coming Kingdom. These gifts may manifest in different ways. Some are manifested through highly talented abilities in the performing arts, artisans who craft jewelry, linen, leather, metal, or wood. Like the Isrealites who built and performed in his temple, God has given many of His followers talents far beyond compare. Those who are part of the body of Christ have been given their own devine role to play in making his church effective. The Holy Spirit leads the believers as they develop the fruit God has given them to maturity. God’s gifts come to us from truth and love. What gifts from God have you been developing in your life? What source did the Holy Spirit lead the Berians to, when they sought Godly wisdom and direction? Where do you find God’s truths to ripen your personal fruit?

1 Corinthians 12:4-11 New Living Translation
4 There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. 5 There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. 6 God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. 7 A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. 8 To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. 9 The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. 10 He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. 11 It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.

John 16:12-15 New International Reader’s Version
12 “I have much more to say to you. It is more than you can handle right now. 13 But when the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own. He will speak only what he hears. And he will tell you what is still going to happen. 14 He will bring me glory. That’s because what he receives from me he will show to you. 15 Everything that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said what the Holy Spirit receives from me he will show to you.

2 John 3 King James Version
3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
