People prophecy about things that will happen. If you are not too specific and given enough time, then chances are something like what you predicted will happen. There will be wars, famine, pestilence and death. There will be good rulers and bad ones. There is one kind of prediction though that few ever make. Prophets don’t predict that something will never happen. After all, given time, scientific progress, and mankind’s curiosity, no one can reliably say something will never happen in the future. You just can’t put limits on what the future might hold. If you had prophesied in 600 B.C. that ‘mankind would never walk on any terrestrial body other than earth’, it would have been a sure bet up until July 20.1969. Then your prediction would have been proven false by Niel Armstrong. Proving himself sovereign over all, God has made a few such future limiting predictions. These predictions are even made concerning something humans are good at and are fundamental to our societies. After having them destroyed, God has decreed that the three cities; Babylon, Sodom and Gomorrah will never be rebuilt. Even though the exact location of Sodom and Gomorrah is not known, parts of Babylon have been unearthed by archaeologists. Saddam Hussein, President of Iraq until 2003 believed he would be able to rebuild Babylon and defy God. Spending much of his nation’s wealth on the ambitious project, his efforts ended in failure as God has said Babylon will never be used as a city again. If others pick up where Saddam left off they will be fighting against God. God has personally called each christian to Jesus. He has a plan for everyone called to follow Jesus now. They have a great destiny as future kings and priests when the rest of humanity is resurrected at their proper time in the coming Kingdom of God. When good things happen do you feel more blessed by God than when bad comes your way? Do things happen to Christians that God is not aware of? Does God’s plan for your life only involve peace and prosperity? Do your life plans end with you as a child of God? What will you do to become that child? What worldly blessings did Jesus have during his earthly life? Did God love Jesus?
